About — Sarah Crossfield

Sarah Crossfield is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, printmaking, film, photography and installation. Her practice is focussed on researching impermanence through both representational and more reductive or abstract methods. The choice or construction of the three-dimensional base for the ‘two-dimensional’ image is often used to play with or enhance the concept of fragility and the ephemeral. Pieces may span the boundary between painting and sculpture.

Recent work explores the unstoppable and fleeting changes in the landscape, interiors or moments of motion. Sarah thoughtfully examines how light, texture and form continuously morph. Themes of decay, regeneration and inevitable passing of time weave through her work.

Print editions are available from £150 and small paintings from £250. Pieces no longer available are marked ‘SOLD’ on the website. Free delivery can be organised in and around the London area. Alternative shipping options are also available - please enquire for a quote for a specific piece. Work can be supplied unframed or I am happy to arrange a quote for a framed piece of your own specification.
If you are considering commissioning a piece of work please contact me via email to begin a conversation. We can discuss your ideas, budget, place of installation and timescale. I can then develop options, sketches and materials/colour samples to refine the brief before confirming the commission.
I open my studio/house to the public the first weekend in July each year - often alongside other local contemporary artists. This is a relaxed way to see the art close up and in a domestic setting. I can also arrange studio visits throughout the year if there are particular pieces you are interested in. Investing in art is a personal and considered decision and I am very happy to provide the time and space for this process. The 2026 open studio dates are 10am - 6pm on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July. Full details to be published shortly.
